Wesley Dorms
Must Be Improved
by Adam Hoffhines
Kansas Wesleyan has three dorms:Wilson, Pfeiffer, and
Wesley. I will be discussing the later two. Pfeiffer is the womens' dorm and Wesley the mens'. There are
some very distinct differences in the room also.
First, the girls have more floorspace in Pfeiffer Hall.
They have room to move things around and put items where they like but in Wesley the men are pretty much stuck with where
their stuff is. One thing Pfeiffer did recently is join pairs of rooms together. This would be an excellent
idea for Wesley as well. The rooms in Wesley are small and crowded and need more space.
Second, the girls have their own bathrooms in each dorm at
Pfeiffer. Now as you know, girls spend more time in the bathroom than guys, so I am not asking for a bathroom in each
room, but one for every two rooms would be nice.
Finally, the girls have bunk beds. This is a major
advantage. Not only do they have more floorspace but bunk beds provide even more space. You can fit, for example,
a desk or a couch underneath a bunk bed.
In conclusion, I would like to say that Wesley dorms do not
have to be the same as Pfeiffer, but improvements need to be made.
